How to Receive and Download Files

Receiving files via WeTransfer is simple, and you don’t even need an account to download them.

1.Open the notification:

  • Check your inbox.
    • Look for an email from WeTransfer with the sender’s name or email address, and click the link inside that says “Get your files.” (Note: If the sender gave you a direct link instead, just paste it into your browser).

2.Review the transfer page

  • On WeTransfer’s website.
    • The link will take you to a secure WeTransfer page showing the sender’s message, the expiration date (usually 7 days), and a list of the files included.

3.Download your files

  • Save to your device.
    • Click the big blue “Download” button to download everything at once as a single .zip file, or click the smaller download icons next to individual files to grab them one by one.

4.Extract the files: Final step.

    • Once the download finishes, locate the file in your device’s “Downloads” folder.
      • If it downloaded as a .zip file, double-click or right-click it to extract and access your content.
