Why I Work by Offer

I’ve chosen to make my artwork available by offer for a few important reasons. This approach is more than just a pricing model—it’s an extension of the philosophy and energy behind the work itself.

1. Acknowledging Intrinsic Value

When you make an offer, it shifts the focus from a fixed price to the inherent value you place on the artwork. Your offer demonstrates a personal connection to the piece and an understanding of its significance beyond a static price tag. This creates a more meaningful exchange, making the acquisition a collaborative act—much like my creative process with AI.

2. Promoting Flexibility and Accessibility

Art is deeply personal, and a single, static price can sometimes fail to reflect the diverse ways individuals connect with and value a piece. The “by offer” model opens a dialogue, making my art more accessible to those who truly resonate with it and are willing to invest in that connection. It’s about ensuring the work finds its rightful home.

3. Embodying Co-creation and Intention

This model embodies the spirit of co-creation and intention that underpins my work. Just as my prompts guide the AI to bring forth specific energies and images, your offer represents your intention to bring this specific artwork and its intent into your life. It transforms a simple transaction into a more considered and intentional exchange, deepening the relationship between the art, the artist, and you, the collector.

This method ensures the exchange is not just a transaction, but a deliberate act of valuing and inviting the art’s unique energy into your space.

How To Use It

You will acquire a piece of high-resolution digital artwork. This unlocks a world of possibilities for how you can enjoy, display, and share it. Think of your file as the master copy—a versatile asset ready for everything from professional prints to stunning digital displays.

Here’s a breakdown of how to make the absolute most of your new media art.

1. Transforming It into a Print

Printing is the most popular way to bring your digital art into the physical world, creating a tangible piece you can frame and hang.

Key Considerations for a Perfect Print

AspectWhat You Need to Know
Resolution (DPI/PPI)Your high-resolution file is ideal. For a sharp, clear image, the industry standard is 300 DPI (dots per inch). If you plan on printing very large formats, higher DPI (like 600) will ensure maximum detail.
File FormatFor the best quality, use TIFF or PDF. These are “lossless” formats that retain all image data. While high-quality JPEGs can work, they use a “lossy” compression that can subtly degrade quality over time.
Color Mode (CMYK vs. RGB)RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is for screens; CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) is for printing. You must convert your file to CMYK before sending it to a professional printer. Be aware that some extremely vibrant RGB colors may look slightly different in print, as the printable color range is smaller. Your printer can assist with this conversion!
Scaling & DimensionsYour file is scalable. Decide on the exact print dimensions you want. To calculate the pixel size, multiply the desired size by the DPI (e.g., for an 8×10 print at 300 DPI, you need a 2400×3000 pixel file).
BleedIf you want the art to extend right to the edge of the paper (full bleed), you’ll need to ask your printer to add a small bleed area (usually 0.125″ to 0.25″). This is trimmed off after printing to prevent any unintended white edges.

Printing Options

  • Professional Printing: For the absolute best results, especially with large or fine art prints, use a professional service. Look for high-quality techniques like giclée printing on materials such as canvas, metal, or fine art cotton rag papers. They have the expertise for color management and specialized equipment.
  • Home Printing: For smaller sizes, you can use a high-quality inkjet printer with pigment-based inks. Always do a small test print first to check colors and saturation before committing to larger sizes.

2. Dynamic Digital Display

Displaying your art digitally is a fantastic way to showcase new media, especially for pieces with subtle movement or for enjoying a rotating collection.

Options for Digital Display

  • Smart Digital Frames: These purpose-built devices are perfect for art. Look for high-resolution screens (often 4K) that can adjust brightness based on ambient light. Popular options include the Samsung Frame TV (which acts as a TV and a frame), Blackdove, and Meural.
  • Tablets & Monitors: A dedicated tablet or monitor can be used as a flexible digital canvas, offering options for size and placement.
  • Projectors: For an immersive, large-scale experience, project the artwork onto a wall. Ensure your projector has a good native resolution and brightness for optimal viewing.

Tips for Digital Display

  • Resolution: Ensure your display’s resolution matches or exceeds the artwork’s native resolution for the sharpest image.
  • Aspect Ratio: Pay attention to the art’s shape (e.g., 16:9, 4:3) and your display’s aspect ratio to avoid stretching or black bars.
  • Playlists: Many smart frames let you create curated playlists, allowing your art collection to rotate and breathe new life into your space.

3. Integrating into Digital Projects

Your high-resolution file is a master asset that can be used across various digital contexts.

  • Digital Backgrounds: Use the artwork as a stunning wallpaper on your computer, tablet, or phone.
  • Websites/Portfolios: Showcase the artwork in an online gallery or portfolio. Tip: You will need to create a smaller, web-optimized version (RGB, smaller file size) for fast loading, but the original high-res file remains your master.
  • Virtual Galleries: Display your piece in emerging virtual exhibition platforms.

4. Archiving and Backup

Protect your investment! Proper archiving is essential, regardless of how you plan to display your art.

  • Multiple Backups: Always store copies of your high-resolution files on at least two separate systems: an external hard drive and cloud storage (like Google Drive or Dropbox).
  • Organization: Keep your digital art in clearly labeled, organized folders for easy access.

By following these best practices, you can fully enjoy your high-resolution new media artwork in the way that best suits your preferences and unique space.

Also Available as a One of a Kind NFT / Non-Fungible Token

I’m excited to offer my New Media Art collections as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), giving you a unique opportunity to acquire truly exclusive digital artwork.

Each piece is a carefully curated digital asset and will be minted as a 1/1, or one-of-a-kind, NFT.
